Ultimately, when confronting a new adventure on the stage, my doubts are stronger than ever. The paradox is that I feel much more secure at the beginning because the courage that moves the unconscious brings with it a greater confidence, and so one works with an irrefutable conviction. So after 44 years of work with the name of Els Joglars, I wonder what sediment is left today from so many hours spent filling a stage with action.
I suspect that there is not much. Perhaps an empty space where objects emerge and subtly disappear. Some situations that spring up so naturally that they do not need to stress any intention, in other words an atmosphere of play on the stage with actors that perform without any sign of effort, radiating a sense of improvisation that is like life itself. In short, a dramatic composition the apparent simplicity of which may lead the public to wonder.
